"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the person of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17
I was thinking about this verse this morning as I worked on our website. Being new at this, I was losing a bit of focus as to what our job really was. Then the Lord showed me this Scripture and brought me back into focus.
Our job as followers of Christ is to share with others what He has done in us. How do we know what Christ offers? The Bible tells us so!! (Did you learn that song, "Jesus Loves Me, this I know...."??) God's Word, and His Holy Spirit in us, will teach, rebuke, correct and train us in the way we should go. Why? To equip us to serve and love Him and others. It's just that simple.
Am I perfect at loving and serving? Definitely not. But I might be better than I was 30 years ago.....or 20 years ago.....or 10 years ago......or a month ago.......you get the picture. By keeping my eyes on Him, He continues to lead, guide and direct me in all truth so that I can continue to slowly grow in Him. I have setbacks all the time, but He never leaves or forsakes me.
Maybe you needed to hear that today. None of us are perfect.....and we never will be this side of eternity. But God loves us right where we are and He continues to move us toward becoming more like Him. He loves us......His Word says so!! "I have loved you with an everlasting love...." Jeremiah 31:3.
Press on today knowing that God loves you.....and I love you, too!!::) t
